Worthy Presidents Message for February
I would like to thank all the members that supported the Jack-of-Diamonds
game for the last 27 weeks. Who would have thought it would go to the last
card? Congratulations to the winner Phyllis Bancroft and a huge thank you
for her generous donation of $1000.00 of the winnings back to the building
fund. I also want to wish the Auxiliary good luck with the game they just
started.
As I am sure you all have heard by now that the Aerie is very financially
solvent, both in the general fund and building fund (thanks to the
Jack-of-Diamonds game). We (the Trustees and I) have started the process
of getting estimates for the repair of the HVAC system in the dining room.
We have asked for at least two estimates for the repair. Unfortunately this is
going to be quite expensive since the compressor needs to be replaced.
The initial work that was done confirmed this.
Once the work on the HVAC is completed we would like to see the parking
lot repaired then possibly paint the Social Room if the funds are available.
There are so many things that need to be done such as clean the carpet (at
least) or replace the carpet.
I would like to thank Barbara Mullet for the many years of service as bar
manager, I hope you find the time to do all the things you have been putting
off.
Thank you to all the volunteers for your continued support to the Aerie,
without you we could not function. Please remember to tip the bartenders
and servers, they are all volunteers and receive no compensation form the
Aerie.
